Pohnpei Public Library would like
thank Mr. Greg Navitsky, Art Intsructor for the College of Micronesia-FSM, and his students for the new mural on the wall. Side
facing the ORAC (Outdoor Reading Activity Center) was painted with colorful
mural with a theme called “Do More, Read More And Be More". In addition, the
Nahs, seesaw and the swings were also painted with colorful paintings. We also thank the Pohnpei Fishing Club, Ms. Uta Finnen and Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission for the support and contributions.

Summer Reading 2013 Celebration
Pohnpei Public Library has just celebrated its Summer Reading Program 2013. The camp began on June 24, 2013 with 105 students. The students were divided into three groups, K-5 to 2nd graders, 3rd to 5th and 6th to 8th. This program has been running for several years. This program allowed children around the island to engage in reading activities. This year’s program constructed so that all children can report their reading progress throughout the week and the top 10 readers from each group received special certificates and prizes at the end of the Program. In addition, library tour, story hours and research project were given to students for daily activities. So here are the list of the top ten readers for the Summer Program 2013. K-5to 2nd- Jehzy Tom, Kimilane Jeah Sigrah, Jemely Tom, Melisha Isaac, Atika Apis, Damon Solomon, Josef Eril A. Satur, April Leah Ezekias, Daesha Solomon, and Chrysta Haylee Santos. 3rd to 5th – Diana Marie Cayabyab, Hannah Mae Laquerta, Grace Estur, Virana Amon, Desiree O. Cayabyab, Ashie Marie Abraham, Kaipo Reed Sigrah, Kigo Apis, Jazz Erwin and Gabrielle Estur. 6th to 8th – Vahine Leopold, Ashley Martin, Yumerie Ioanis, Vercio James, Loveleen Leopold, Carleen Elias, Letisha Adolph, Fiona Jean Ioanis, Mary Jae Ardos and Gloann Defang.
