PICS High School Carpentry Class Builds Benches for Pohnpei Public Library

On September 26, 2024, students from PICS High School’s Carpentry class put their skills to the test by creating beautiful, handcrafted benches for the Pohnpei Public Library. This collaborative project not only showcased the students’ hard work and dedication but also underscored the importance of community involvement and support.

We are incredibly thankful for the talented students who poured their creativity and effort into these benches. Their craftsmanship will provide a welcoming space for library patrons to sit, read, and enjoy the resources the library has to offer. This addition is more than just furniture; it represents a commitment to fostering a love for learning and community engagement.

The partnership between PICS High School and the Pohnpei Public Library is strengthened through initiatives like this. By working together, we’re building a brighter future for our students and the community they serve. We look forward to more projects that enrich our library and inspire our young craftsmen and women.

WE ARE HIRING!

We are always glad to provide the experience to people as they journey through life in the workforce, and so we have farewelled our former staff and are now looking to hire a NEW LIBRARY AIDE to join the team and make learning a great experience again for our youths. We are contiuously looking to expand the horizons for our young ones and safeguard our learning environment that we are looking to cultivate and maintain; we are looking for an individual that can not only carry out the duties behind the computers but to also take on the more strenuous tasks i.e., cleaning solar panels on the roof, the gutters, cut the grass around the compound and deal with drug using loiterers or any rowdy unwanted crowds or individuals.
