Lively Storytime at the Pohnpei Public Library
On January 23, 2025, the Pohnpei Public Library hosted a vibrant and engaging reading hour that brought joy and learning to children and families. From 4 PM to 5 PM, two captivating stories filled the library with laughter, wonder, and important life lessons.
Mr. and Mrs. Christensen, members of the Mormon Church, began the session with Bear Says Thank You. Through the charming tale of Bear expressing gratitude, they emphasized the importance of saying thank you in everyday life. Their warm and animated storytelling kept the young audience engaged and inspired.
Following their reading, oral storyteller Dakota Camacho shared a mesmerizing tale of how the earth was formed, rooted in Guam mythology. With passion and a rich narrative style, Dakota transported listeners to a world of creation and cultural heritage, leaving both kids and adults in awe.
The event was a resounding success, blending timeless values with cultural storytelling, making it a truly unforgettable afternoon. The PPL Board Members are especialluy excited to see that everyone here brought a spectacular energy that brings the life of the Library back into our youths and young listeners from across the world. We welcome everyone to our story hours either as a reader or a listener. Thank you and Kalahngan to everyone!
