Library Week Outreach Day 3

On a bright and cheerful day, the Pohnpei Public Library team visited Parem Island Elementary School to share the importance of libraries with young learners. A total of 37 students, ranging from 1st to 8th grade, gathered to hear about how libraries can open doors to knowledge, imagination, and lifelong learning.

A special guest speaker from the library, Mr. Jordan Ligorio (Library Aide) delivered a heartfelt speech, encouraging students to explore books and use library resources to fuel their dreams. The visit wasn't just about books—it was about inspiring the next generation to become curious, creative, and confident readers.

Joining the outreach were dedicated library staff members: Resel Augustine (Custodian), Andrew (Australian volunteer), Emyleen Albert (Assistant Librarian), and Jordan Ligrio (Library Aide). Together, they helped make the day a meaningful and memorable experience for the students.

The PPL Staff then did a fun activity with the kiddos and passed out goody bags to the kids after an exciting Library Week visit.

Pohnpei Public Library remains committed to reaching every corner of the island, bringing the love of reading and learning to all children, no matter how remote their school may be.
