Day 1 with Cluster 1: A Fun and Colorful Start to Summer Reading 2025!

A Fun and Colorful Start to Summer Reading 2025!

We kicked off a successful Day 1 with Cluster 2 for our 2025 Summer Reading Program, following the exciting theme “Coloring Our Library!” The day was full of energy, laughter, and learning as our youngest readers—students from K5 to 2nd grade—joined us for a fun-filled day of activities designed to spark their love for reading and friendship.

Throughout the day, the kids had the chance to make new friends, play fun and educational games, and explore their creativity. Some of the highlights included Letter Bingo, Dance-Freeze and Form the Letter, coloring pictures of libraries, and participating in listening and whisper games that kept everyone engaged. One of the most heartwarming moments was when the kids sang together to our theme song for the year: “Making New Friends.”

The schedule was nearly non-stop, with a well-deserved snack break halfway through each session. The morning group ran from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and the afternoon session from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Both groups stayed active, learning, and having fun right up until the very end.

Before leaving, each child got to pick out 5 books to take home, which would be monitored by our on site book report sheet, ready to track their reading progress in their individual program files.

By the end of the day, the kids left with smiles, new friends, and books in hand—excited for what Day 2 will bring!
