Wednesday, July 9: Cluster 1 Enjoys a Rainy Day Inside
Midweek brought Cluster 1 (K5 to 2nd grade) in for a day of indoor activities as heavy rain settled over Pohnpei. But that didn’t stop the fun! Kids rotated between storytime, early writing activities, and movement-based games. A quick snack break was taken outside on the benches when the rain let up. The afternoon session enjoyed the same rhythm of reading, games, and snack time—all bundled in a warm, cozy atmosphere.
Thursday, July 10: Cluster 2 Dives Into Reading and Games
Next up, Cluster 2 (3rd to 5th grade) returned for their third week. Both morning and afternoon sessions began with a story reading led by Andrew, followed by a delicious snack break and then an educational group game that tested their thinking skills.
In the afternoon, we upped the energy with more active indoor games to help burn off the snack-fueled excitement. Afterward, students jumped into reading comprehension challenges and ended with a small team game that sent them home smiling and proud of what they’d accomplished.
Friday, July 11: Cluster 3 Returns for Digital Discovery
To close out the week, Cluster 3 came back for a very special technology session focused on basic computer use and PowerPoint creation. With the help of our dedicated staff, students worked in teams and individually to build presentations about their summer reading adventures.
They created slides that highlighted their favorite moments from the program—especially Tuesday’s field trip—and added photos, titles, and bullet points showcasing what excited them most. It was an adventurous dive into digital learning, full of essential tech skills that will undoubtedly benefit them in their future education.
To top it off, each student had their photo taken as part of our upcoming SRP 2025 Mini Yearbook, a keepsake they’ll get to take home at the end of the program—a celebration of all their hard work, learning, and fun.
