On May 6, 2026, we were honored to welcome a special visit to the library from Mr. Charlie Kniseley, Education Specialist with the U.S. Department of Education, along with associates from the U.S. Embassy. Their visit brought encouragement, warm conversations, and support for the work we continue to do for our community.

It is worth noting that Mr. David Knisely, a follower of our Library’s Facebook page, first came to know about the Pohnpei Public Library through our online presence. His engagement with our page reflects the importance of social media in connecting friends of the library near and far, and in strengthening awareness of our programs and milestones.

As part of their visit, the library staff received a thoughtful gift package, as a symbol of friendship and appreciation. The gift included children’s reading materials and educational items that will help inspire learning and joy among our young readers.

We sincerely thank Mr. Kniseley and the associates from the U.S. Embassy for taking the time to visit our library and for their generous support. Visits like these strengthen partnerships and remind us of the importance of working together to promote education, literacy, and community growth. We look forward to continuing these meaningful connections and creating more opportunities that benefit our library and the people we serve
